A saturated turquoise ceramic panel built from long, slim modules, with brushed glaze movement and small metallic “nodes” that punctuate the surface like jewellery. Graphic, architectural, and quietly playful.

Pipe Dream – Brushed Turquoise is composed from elongated rectangular ceramics laid in staggered courses, creating a disciplined brickwork rhythm with subtle irregularity. The turquoise glaze shifts across each piece with a brushed, watery depth, moving between sea-green, teal, and mineral blue, so the wall never reads flat.

Slim vertical accents in contrasting tones appear like tiny “pipes” dropped into the joints, while occasional metallic inserts – rounded and capsule-like – catch light and add a precise, sculptural interruption to the field. The overall effect is micro-architectural: part tile, part composition, with a balance of calm repetition and deliberate surprise.

Ideal for feature walls, wet areas, bar fronts, reception desks, stair cores, and statement architectural moments. Available as a composed panel or modular system, with colour balance and insert placement tailored to the project.

Designing with a Turquoise Ceramic Panel

The staggered courses give the composition a measured horizontal structure, while variation within the hand-painted glaze prevents the surface from becoming uniform. Turquoise, sea-green and mineral blue move across the rectangular pieces, allowing the panel to respond differently under direct, diffuse or directional light. Small flashes of red, ochre, blue and dark metal interrupt the wider colour field without overwhelming it.

Supplied by Alex Zdankowicz, the design may be developed as a contained focal panel or extended across a larger wall. Within De Ferranti’s ceramic art collection, it can be compared with Pipe Dream Blue/Carmine, which interprets the same modular language through a lighter and more varied palette. Layout and Project Specification

The overall panel dimensions, staggered bond, perimeter cuts and position of the coloured and metallic inserts should be established before installation. A representative sample or setting-out drawing can assist with reviewing glaze variation, grout tone and the relationship between the composition and surrounding finishes.

For bathrooms, kitchens, fireplace surrounds and other specified settings, the substrate, fixing products, waterproofing, movement provision and cleaning requirements should be confirmed for the particular project. The metallic inserts and glazed ceramic surface should be maintained with suitable non-abrasive products.
