Our tufo Romanico border creates a luxurious earthy toned border frame around your floor to lift and personalise it to your taste. This unique patterned border is inspired by the vision of birds flying into the distance.

A mixture of Tufo Romanico, Yellow Terracotta and hard White Limestone over a cement base ensuring that the border is not only stable and sound, but also easy to install. Totally handcut, hand assembled, a truly handmade product. No border is the same as the artist’s hand is vital in creating natural nuances within each interlocking piece. Thicknesses can be 1cm or 2cm or to order as can the border widths and material combinations. All the De Ferranti borders are fully customisable.

Tufo Romanico Border with White Limestone Flight Motif

Gabbiano Border has a calm, repeating movement, with pale white limestone forms set into a speckled Tufo Romanico field. The shapes suggest wings, sails or birds in flight, giving the border a sense of direction without becoming overly literal. Yellow terracotta frames the composition and adds warmth, making the palette feel sun-baked, natural and quietly decorative.

This Tufo Romanico border is suited to projects where a stone floor needs a softer patterned edge rather than a sharp geometric line. It can be used to frame a floor, define a threshold, create a perimeter band, outline a fireplace surround or introduce a repeating decorative detail within a larger wall or floor composition, subject to specification and installation method.
