Create a luxurious earthy, dry and contrasting toned border frame around your floor to lift and personalise it to your taste with our Pompeii stone border. This unique patterned border is inspired by the colours of Pompeii. It is fashioned from Sage Stone, Black Marble and Terracotta, over a cement base ensuring that the border is not only stable and sound, but also easy to install. Totally handcut, hand assembled, a truly handmade product. No border is the same as the artists hand is vital in creating natural nuances within each interlocking piece. Thicknesses can be 1cm or 2cm or to order as can the border widths and material combinations. All the De Ferranti borders are fully customisable.
Fioretto Border has a compact, energetic repeat, with black marble forms alternating against pale stone and warm terracotta accents. The pattern reads almost like a stylised chevron or leaf sequence, creating movement along the length of the border while keeping a strong linear discipline. The yellow and ochre outer frame adds warmth and helps the central motif sit clearly within the composition.
This Pompeii stone border is suited to projects where a floor or wall detail needs contrast, rhythm and a sense of handcut irregularity. It can be used to frame a stone floor, mark a threshold, define a fireplace surround, create a perimeter band or introduce a decorative border into a larger interior scheme. Its palette works especially well with terracotta, black stone, aged limestone and Roman-inspired surface language.
Within the De Ferranti borders collection, Fioretto Border offers a drier, earthier and more graphic direction. Designers considering related work may also wish to explore Fiore diagonale, Mediterranean Mosaics and Cocciopesto – Ancient Roman Lime & Crushed-Terracotta Plaster.
