Our Roman inlaid border is inspired by Imperial Roman carvings, with swirling yellow and brown fossil stones set against black marble tram lines. The design creates an elegant interlocking border frame for a floor, wall or architectural detail, bringing warmth, rhythm and personal character to an interior scheme.
This unique Caesare Roman inlaid border is fashioned from brown and yellow fossil stones with black marble tram lines. It is supplied over a stone or marble base, helping the border remain stable, sound and easier to install. Totally hand-cut and hand assembled, it is a truly handmade product. No border is exactly the same, as the artist’s hand is vital in creating natural nuances within each interlocking piece.
Thicknesses can be 2 cm or made to order, as can the border widths and material combinations. All De Ferranti borders are fully customisable. The current finish is antiqued.
The strength of this Roman inlaid border lies in the movement of its overlapping crescent forms. Warm fossil stones bring golden, ochre and brown variation, while the black marble tram lines give the composition definition and structure. The result is decorative, but not fussy, with a strong classical rhythm suited to both traditional and more eclectic interiors.
It can be used as a floor border, threshold detail, wall band, fireplace surround accent, tabletop edge or framed decorative insert, subject to specification. The antiqued finish helps soften the surface and gives the border a more timeworn character.
This product belongs to De Ferranti’s Borders – Various Disciplines collection, where stone, marble, mosaic, metal and specialist inlay borders can be tailored for project use.
