Young Pen weave design – brown grout
This Young Pen weave composition translates the warmth of antique tortoiseshell into a structured, brick-inspired layout. Rectangular shell slices are arranged in a disciplined running bond pattern, their , chestnut and deep umber tones shifting subtly from tile to tile, creating movement beneath the surface.

The natural translucency of the shell reveals smoky veining, darker flecks and honeyed highlights that glow once ground to a glossy finish. The brown grout deepens the palette, reinforcing the woven rhythm while allowing the iridescent undertones to remain the focal point.

Crafted from recycled shell by-products, this surface offers a refined and ethical alternative to traditional tortoiseshell aesthetics. Each panel is inherently unique, with natural tonal variations and organic nuances that prevent repetition.
