Richly layered and visually complex, this Young Pen shell mosaic evokes the warmth and depth of antique tortoiseshell - without compromise. The surface moves through tones of burnt amber , caramel, honey gold and deep umber, punctuated by natural charcoal speckling and translucent patches that glow when they catch the light.

Each shell fragment is sliced in a “crazy cut” formation, then gently crackled to enhance its organic texture. The glossy ground finish intensifies the depth of colour, while the yellow grout subtly warms the composition, blending rather than sharply dividing the pieces. The result is a surface that feels almost liquid in places, with darker mineral blooms appearing suspended beneath the polished layer.
