This Young Pen weave mosaic presents a richer, more saturated interpretation of the tortoiseshell aesthetic, with densely layered rectangles forming a tightly interlocked pattern. The palette moves through burnt sienna, dark amber , espresso brown and near-black undertones, producing a surface that feels both architectural and jewel-like.

Each rectangular slice reveals natural shell striations and subtle translucency, with light catching the polished surface to create depth beneath the grid. The brown grout enhances the woven structure, grounding the composition while allowing the glossy shell pieces to shimmer with tonal variation.
