Cream Shell reveals the softest expression of mother of pearl , with flowing, wave-like iridescence moving through tones of ivory, champagne, pale blush and misty silver. Each 4.8 x 4.8 cm square captures the natural curvature of the shell, creating a subtle rhythm of light that shifts gently as you move around the surface.

Mother of pearl is the innermost layer of the shell and has been prized for centuries in jewellery and decorative arts for its luminous optical qualities. Composed of approximately 95 percent calcium carbonate, it is a natural material and therefore displays slight variations in tone, pattern and reflectivity - no two pieces are ever identical, and there is no fixed or preset shade.

The mosaic surface is protected with a fine polyurethane top coat. While the shell itself is naturally waterproof, the finish should not come into contact with acidic substances such as vinegar, wine, lemon juice or acid-based cleaners.

All De Ferranti mother of pearl mosaics are produced using shell species that are not protected under the Washington Convention and are never treated with oils derived from cetaceans.
