Capiz Scales Smoke
A smoked capiz shell panel with a soft, filtered glow, built from overlapping scale-like discs that shift between pearl, champagne and warm haze, like an updated shell screen for contemporary interiors.

Capiz Scales reinterprets the traditional Philippine capiz window through a more muted, contemporary palette. The surface is formed from natural capiz shells sliced and arranged as overlapping “scales”, creating a layered effect with gentle depth and movement. Tonal variation is intrinsic - each element carries its own clouding and translucency, so the panel changes from pearly light to smoky warmth depending on the angle and intensity of light.

The shells are inlaid onto a prepared substrate using adhesive and then laminated to improve durability and surface stability. The scale formation creates a soft, non-linear pattern that reads organic rather than geometric, making it ideal where you want texture and shimmer without a strict grid.

Available in sizes from 10 x 10 cm up to 100 x 100 cm. Thickness varies by application: tiles from 8 mm, and wall panels from 8 mm to 19 mm. Suitable applications include tiles, wall décor and cladding, countertops and tabletops, mirror frames, cabinet doors and furniture accents, where the layered can catch and diffuse light beautifully.
