is the innermost layer of the shell, composed of approximately 95 percent calcium carbonate. As a natural material, slight variations in tone, size and pattern are inherent - its iridescence means no two pieces share an identical shade.
The surface is protected by a thin polyurethane top coat. While the shell itself is naturally waterproof, it must not come into contact with acidic substances such as vinegar, wine, champagne, lemon juice or acid-based cleaners.
All shell species used are non-protected and comply with international regulations. No oils derived from cetaceans are used in production.
