This table features a pale stone ground laid in large pieces, over which a network of dark, thorn-like stems winds across the surface. Small roses and leaves appear throughout the composition in warm terracotta and tones, each element cut and set by hand to create a painterly effect using stone alone.
The contrast is what gives the piece its atmosphere: refined, light-toned stone beneath, then a delicate, almost calligraphic overlay of thorny lines and petals that feels organic rather than symmetrical. The perimeter is kept quiet so the inlay field reads as the focal artwork.
Made as a furniture-ready panel, it is suitable as a centre table, console top or feature tabletop. As with all hand cut inlay and work, each piece is unique, with natural variation in stone tone, veining and the exact character of the inlaid elements.
