This table features a pale stone ground laid in large opus sectile pieces, over which a network of dark, thorn-like stems winds across the surface. Small roses and leaves appear throughout the composition in warm terracotta and amber tones, each element cut and set by hand to create a painterly effect using stone alone.

The contrast is what gives the piece its atmosphere: refined, light-toned stone beneath, then a delicate, almost calligraphic overlay of thorny lines and petals that feels organic rather than symmetrical. The perimeter is kept quiet so the inlay field reads as the focal artwork.
