Monochrome Incised Vase – Verde and Black
The Verde edition brings a fresher, botanical energy to this disciplined form. A deep black, high-gloss body is wrapped in carved leaf motifs that read as both ornament and architecture, with sculptural handles and a classical amphora silhouette.

This monochrome vase remains a study in contrast, proportion, and controlled decoration - but here the palette shifts from ivory to a saturated leaf green. The polished black body, finished to a near piano gloss, is incised with repeated leaf forms that encircle the vase in rhythmic bands. The motifs are not applied or inlaid; they are carved into the surface so the pattern becomes part of the vessel’s structure, creating a shallow relief that catches light along every edge.

The green detailing feels organic and intentional, like stylised foliage emerging from the darkness of the ground. It gives the surface a gentle dimensional pulse: glossy black curvature, crisp incised contours, and the soft, rounded presence of the leaf shapes.

Its silhouette recalls classical amphora proportions, with twin looped handles rising from the shoulder and a slightly flared neck that balances the generous body. A stepped base anchors the piece with a grounded, architectural weight.

Executed in black and verde, this version reads as quieter than polychrome yet more vivid than the ivory original - refined, graphic, and unmistakably sculptural. A perfect statement object within the Objects and Artifacts collection, whether placed alone on a or used as a focal accent within a layered interior palette of stone, , and ceramic.
