The pattern is built from stylised tulip flames and crescent forms, arranged in disciplined symmetry across a deeply saturated red field. The gold elements are raised in textured plaster, catching light across their subtly crackled surface. Fine crazing within the gesso enhances the aged, time-softened character, evoking the quiet grandeur of historic interiors while remaining strikingly contemporary.
Gesso is a traditional technique of stencilled, printed and textured plaster applied to stretched canvas. The result is a surface of extraordinary depth - visually layered, tactile and richly tonal. Unlike flat paint finishes, gesso panels shift with changing light, revealing shadow, sheen and nuanced texture.
Available exclusively from De Ferranti in 3m x 1m panels, Tulips can be used as wall cladding, statement panels, inset features or refined furniture overlays. Designs from the existing collection can be specified, or fully bespoke patterns and colourways commissioned to suit individual projects.
This is not simply a wall covering, but a crafted surface with presence, weight and decorative authority.
