A bold, atmospheric surface inspired by aged Cordoba leather and burnished earth. Ember Halo is a crackled gesso finish layered in deep rust, copper and umber tones, punctuated by softly defined circular medallions.

Gesso is the traditional technique of stencilled, printed and textured plaster applied to stretched canvas. Offering exceptional depth of tone and surface movement, it allows colour to settle into fissures and relief, creating a richly time-worn effect.

In Ember Halo, circular forms emerge through a deliberately fractured ground, revealing darker underlayers and subtle metallic highlights. The result is warm, tactile and evocative of aged plaster or lacquer.
