Inspired by the decorative language that flourished during the great medieval fairs of the Champagne region, this tile draws on an engraving-like technique developed to create high-aesthetic surfaces for cathedrals and noble homes. The result is graphic and bold, yet softened by firing variation, tiny speckling, and gently irregular edges.
The motif is a swirling triskelion form, framed by arcing borders and corner flourishes in deep contrast against a golden, aged ground. Used as a single accent tile, in repeating fields, or as part of a larger geometric assembly, it brings historic rhythm and pattern to kitchens, fireplaces, entrance halls, and feature panels.
De Ferranti also offers a marbled tile influenced by this period, for a more tonal interpretation of the same medieval spirit.
