Cortina 1 is a hand-painted ceramic tile inspired by the medieval Palio festival of Italy, capturing the celebratory energy of processional flags through a bold, rotating motif set on an off-white ground with warm coral tones.

This design is built around a pinwheel-like form, where curved arms sweep out from the centre to create movement and rhythm across the surface. Laid in repeat, the pattern reads as both playful and architectural, with the hand-painted linework giving it a human, artisan character rather than a printed perfection.
