This unique border is fashioned from Pietra Bianca and Yellow Leathery Terracotta over a cement base ensuring that the border is not only stable and sound, but also easy to install. Totally handcut, hand assembled, a truly handmade product. No border is the same as the artist’s hand is vital in creating natural nuances within each interlocking piece. Thicknesses can be 1cm or 2cm or to order as can the border widths and material combinations. All the De Ferranti borders are fully customisable.

Cotto Scroll Border in Pietra Bianca and Terracotta

Imperio White & Cotto Border has a lighter, more open character than the volcanic version of the same design family. Warm terracotta scrolls move across a pale Pietra Bianca field, creating a classical decorative rhythm with a soft Mediterranean warmth. The pattern includes long curling tendrils, smaller spirals and floral details, giving the border movement without making the composition feel heavy.

This cotto scroll border is suited to projects where a floor, wall or feature surface needs ornament, warmth and handcut detail, but with a cleaner, paler background. It can be used to frame a stone floor, define a threshold, create a perimeter band, outline a fireplace surround or introduce a scrolling terracotta motif into a larger interior composition, subject to final specification and installation method.
