Rough-Faced Textured Stone Pool Room Walls – Parkside, Wimbledon | Charlotte Crosland
Within the same Parkside, Wimbledon residence specified by Charlotte Crosland, De Ferranti supplied rough-faced textured stone to the pool room walls. The finish was chosen to bring depth, shadow and a grounded, architectural calm to the space, creating a strong material counterpoint to water, light and smooth detailing.

The pool room walls were finished in a rough-faced stone with an intentionally uneven, tactile surface. Rather than reading decorative, the texture behaves architecturally - catching grazing light, amplifying shadow lines, and giving the room a sense of permanence and shelter. Up close, the surface feels mineral and handcrafted. From a distance, it becomes a quiet, monolithic backdrop that allows the pool environment to breathe.

nIn wet-area settings, textured stone adds visual warmth without relying on colour, and it pairs naturally with mosaic pool linings, metal fittings and clean plastered surfaces. As part of this wider De Ferranti package for the residence, the rough-faced pool room walls were designed to work in harmony with the home’s other bespoke elements, including the custom limestone grand hall floor, the Calacatta Oro double vanity, and the interior pool mosaic lining.
