Custom Cosmati Panel Commission for Italianate Villa – King’s Road, London
Commissioned by a renowned London designer for an Italianate villa on King’s Road, London, this bespoke Cosmati stone panel showcases De Ferranti’s expertise in classical geometric pavements and decorative stonework. Built around a bold central rondel and concentric patterned rings, the piece delivers historic gravitas with crisp, contemporary precision.

Inspired by traditional Cosmati pavements, the panel is composed as a disciplined sequence of circles and bands, combining a dark central stone with bright white surrounds and intricate geometric inserts. The alternating triangles and tessellated motifs create rhythm and optical movement, while the warm ochre and deep charcoal tones add richness and depth without overpowering the architecture.

nDesigned as a statement “carpet” element within the villa, the panel brings structure to the floor plan and anchors surrounding finishes with a clear classical reference. Each component was carefully cut to maintain alignment through the rings, ensuring clean geometry and a seamless read across the full composition.

nThis project reflects De Ferranti’s capacity to deliver bespoke Cosmati-style commissions for high-end London residences, working closely with leading designers to translate historical languages into tailored, site-specific stone artworks.
