This shell stone stripe mosaic combines Young Pen shell, Black Lip Mother of Pearl, Hammer Shell and Baguio Stone in narrow linear bands set into natural grout. Inspired by guitar strings, the composition uses lengthwise slices to create a disciplined sequence of light and dark stripes rather than a conventional square mosaic. The shells and stone are inlaid onto a substrate with adhesive and ground to a glossy finish. Available sizes are recorded from 10 x 10 cm to 100 x 100 cm, with a stated tile thickness of 7 mm and wall-panel thicknesses from 7 mm to 19 mm depending on the material build-up.
The interest comes from contrast between the constituent materials. Black Lip introduces dark nacre, Hammer Shell gives paler reflective notes, Young Pen adds warm brown movement and Baguio Stone supplies a mineral counterpoint. The natural grout keeps the separate stripes legible while allowing the whole field to read as one continuous linear surface.
Compare Hammer Shell Tile, MOP Tahiti Black Lip squares with black grout and Natural Brass with White MOP & Black Pen Shell for related approaches to shell colour, scale, pattern or surface treatment. The Shells & Mother of Pearl collection places this product within De Ferranti's wider group of shell mosaics, inlays, trims and relief surfaces.
The stripe direction should be established early because orientation strongly affects the visual length and rhythm of the finished surface. The shell stone stripe mosaic can be considered for tiles, wall cladding, countertops, tabletops, mirror frames, cabinet doors and furniture accents. Confirm panel dimensions, edge details and how lines continue across joints before manufacture.
