This smoked capiz square tile reinterprets the traditional Philippine shell window through a regular 5 cm module and a contemporary smoke-toned palette. Natural clouding remains visible within every square, producing a measured grid that still changes from pearl to taupe and champagne as light crosses the surface.
Natural Capiz shell is cut into squares, inlaid onto a prepared substrate with adhesive and laminated for durability and surface stability. The regular module gives the product a calmer, more graphic structure than overlapping scale formats while preserving the translucent character of the shell. Available panel sizes are listed from 10 x 10 cm up to 100 x 100 cm. The recorded thickness is from 8 mm for tiles, with wall panels from 8 mm to 19 mm depending on the application.
The Capiz Scales Smoke uses the same family of smoky shell tones in a softer overlapping pattern. For a paler grid, Capiz Shell Mosaic – Pearl Brick introduces a linear white-pearl repeat. The Capiz Window Scale – White is useful when comparing square geometry with rounded shell forms.
Listed applications include walls, tiles, tabletops, mirror frames, cabinet doors and furniture accents. On a smoked capiz square tile installation, the 5 cm joints create a visible datum, so panel alignment should be coordinated with corners, niches and surrounding materials before manufacture. Review a representative sample under the project lighting and confirm the required backing, thickness, edge treatment and panel junctions for the intended construction.
