Broccatello Francese
Broccatello Francese, or French Brocatelle, is a rare historic marble breccia belonging to the richly decorative family of brocatelle stones, prized for their varied colour, broken movement and textile-like pattern. The word brocatelle comes from the Italian broccatello, meaning a light brocaded fabric, and the name was later applied to marbles whose dense, swirling veining recalled the richness of patterned Renaissance textiles. French brocatelle varieties are historically associated with the Jura and the Pyrenean marble regions, with yellow, violet and mixed tones used in architectural interiors, fireplace surrounds, furniture tops and decorative stonework from the 17th to 19th centuries.
Admired for its fractured colour, ornamental depth and antique character, Broccatello Francese is especially suited to luxury interiors, statement panels, bathrooms, fireplace surrounds, furniture, decorative slabs and projects where rare marbles, historic provenance and expressive natural pattern are essential
