Brèche St Maximin
Brèche St Maximin, also known as Brèche de Saint-Maximin, is a rare historic French marble breccia associated with the decorative stone traditions of northern France, particularly the Picardy region. Admired for its richly fractured mixture of red, purple, cream, white, grey and deeper mineral tones, it has the expressive, broken composition that made antique breccia marbles so desirable for architectural interiors, furniture, fireplaces and ornamental stonework. Historic references describe Brèche de Saint-Maximin as a red marble quarried in France, while antique dealers and stone records connect it with late 18th and 19th-century decorative applications, including Louis XVI fireplaces, commode tops, columns and high-status interior details.

Its dramatic polychrome structure gives it a strong architectural presence, making it especially suited to luxury interiors, statement panels, bathrooms, fireplace surrounds, decorative slabs and projects where rare marbles, historic provenance and visual character are essential.
