This turquoise medallion tile is a handmade wall tile with a near-embossed, low-relief medallion design, glazed in layered turquoise and cobalt over a deep, antiqued earth-brown ground.

This 30 x 30 cm ceramic tile is built around a central rosette, framed by a bold quatrefoil and fleur-like motifs that radiate into a circular medallion. Fine, incised striping and raised outlines give the surface a quiet architectural texture, low relief that reads almost embossed, catching light along the edges without becoming heavily sculpted.

Hand painted and glazed by hand, the colour palette plays between bright ocean blues and softer sea-green notes, set against a mottled, timeworn background that deepens the contrast and lends an aged, artisan character. As with all handmade work, expect gentle variation in tone, glaze pooling, and small irregularities that make each tile unique.

Layout and grout for a fleur relief

Designed for wall applications, it works beautifully as a single statement piece, as a repeated field for a patterned wall, or as framed panels in splashbacks, niches and feature walls. Pair with grout in warm grey, deep taupe, or soft charcoal to keep the geometry crisp and the relief legible.
