The repeat should be planned against the finished dimensions of the surface, with attention to principal sightlines, perimeter cuts, corners and thresholds. A representative sample or setting-out drawing can help establish the preferred scale, joint width and grout tone before installation. The grout should support the star lattice without introducing an unrelated grid.

For floor, wet-area, fireplace or warm-climate exterior use, substrate preparation, fixing materials, movement provision, waterproofing, slip performance and exposure suitability should be confirmed for the individual project.
