Stone mosaic border, the Babylon & Criss-Cross Border – Miniature combines geometry, floral rhythm and luminous material detail in a finely scaled decorative frame. Designed as two complementary miniature borders, the composition feels precise, delicate and quietly opulent, with each pattern distinct yet unified by tone and proportion.
Crafted from Pure White Makrana Marble, white semi-precious serpentine and Mother of Pearl cabochon accent dots, the palette moves through chalk white, soft mineral green, pearl and silvery iridescence. The Mother of Pearl introduces a gentle shimmer, lifting the matte stone composition and creating a subtle contrast between marble, serpentine and shell.
Each element is entirely hand-cut and hand-assembled over a stable cement base, giving the border structural integrity and making it easier to install. Because every tessera is placed by hand, no two runs are exactly alike. Small variations in alignment, tone and material give the finished border its natural nuance.
Available in 2 cm thickness or made to order, with fully customisable widths and material combinations. Current finish options include honed and polished.
This stone mosaic border is well suited to interiors where detail matters but heavy ornament would feel excessive. It can frame a floor, define a wall panel, finish a tabletop edge, introduce a refined line through a bathroom scheme, or add jewellery-like detail to furniture, screens or yacht interiors, subject to specification.
The product belongs to De Ferranti’s Borders – Various Disciplines collection, where stone, marble, metal, mosaic and specialist inlay borders can be tailored for project use. Its material language also connects naturally with semi-precious stone mosaics, Shells & Mother of Pearl and the wider Stone & Marble Mosaics category.
