The Bohemia Art Nouveau tile forms part of De Ferranti’s Art Nouveau Collection of handpainted ceramic panels.

In the spirit of reviving historical decorative movements, our Art Nouveau Collection comprises 8 handpainted 49 cm square ceramic panels of sixteen 11cm square tiles in vivid shades of orange, yellow and green.

Bohemia Art Nouveau Tile Design

Bohemia combines broad, flowing bands with curled green forms and small golden-yellow accents. Fine crackle lines animate the pale sections of the surface, while warm ochre passages and softly darkened edges give the individual tile a mottled, painterly character. The rounded corners and hand-applied colour prevent the composition from feeling mechanically precise.

Across the assembled panel, the pale ribbons continue from tile to tile, creating a sinuous rhythm between the green, leaf-like shapes. The pattern is botanical without depicting a single identifiable plant. Instead, it uses movement, colour and repetition to express the organic design language associated with Art Nouveau. The restrained palette also allows Bohemia to sit comfortably alongside timber, plaster, stone and quieter plain ceramic fields.

Hand-Painted Ceramic Panel for Interior Walls

The Bohemia Art Nouveau tile is intended for decorative internal wall applications, including bathrooms, residential interiors, restaurants and commercial settings. It may be used as a complete feature panel, repeated across a larger wall or framed within a contrasting field tile to create a more concentrated decorative element.

As the design is formed from sixteen separate tiles, the sequence and orientation of every piece should be checked before installation. A dry layout or project mock-up will help confirm the continuity of the pattern, the overall panel dimensions and its relationship with adjoining materials. Joint width, grout colour and perimeter detailing should be selected as part of the composition rather than treated as secondary decisions.
